No manuals. No learning curve. Here's exactly how to go from signing up to your kids earning their first payout โ one step at a time.
Part 1 โ Setup
The parent account is the control room. One parent account runs the whole family โ you add the kids inside it.
Go to app.kidconnect.site. You'll see two panels: Kids on the left, Parents on the right.
Enter your email and choose a password. Your password needs all three: at least 8 characters, at least 1 number, and at least 1 special character (like !@#$%^&*).
Family2026! and it'll pass on the first try.
Launch pricing is $3.99/month (normally $4.99) or $39.99/year (normally $49.99). The annual plan works out to about $3.33/month โ cheapest if you know you're keeping it.
Checkout runs through Stripe, so your card details never touch KidConnect's servers.
After checkout you'll see the KidConnect dashboard: your weekly schedule, the Kids panel, the Chores list, and your family Balance. Everything happens from here.
Part 2 โ Your Kids
Each kid gets their own name, colour and โ most importantly โ a 4-digit code. That code is how they get in. No emails, no passwords for the kids to lose.
In the Kids panel, click Add Kid. Give them a name and pick a colour โ the colour is what makes their chores easy to spot on the schedule.
KidConnect generates a 4-digit code for each child (for example 5485). Write it down or tell them once โ they'll use it every time they log in.
The code is the only thing protecting a kid's account. Don't post it anywhere public โ and if a sibling learns it, it's worth changing.
Parents can see every kid's code from the dashboard at any time โ so if a child forgets theirs, you don't have to do anything drastic.
Part 3 โ Chores & Money
This is the part kids actually care about. Every chore carries a dollar amount, and completing it adds to their balance.
In the Chores panel click Add, name the chore (e.g. "wash dishes"), and set its dollar value. That value is what lands in the kid's balance once it's done.
Assign a chore to one kid if it's specifically theirs, or leave it unassigned so it shows as available and the first kid to claim it gets it. Open chores are great for "whoever gets there first" jobs.
From their own login, a kid sees the available chores and taps to claim one. Claiming it marks it as theirs so two kids can't both do the same job.
When the job's done, the kid marks it complete. You'll see it on your side, so you always know what's been finished and when.
Part 4 โ Kid Login
Kids don't need an email address or a password. They use the Kids panel on the same login page.
Part 5 โ Money
KidConnect keeps a running balance per kid, so there's no arguing about who's owed what.
Each completed chore adds its value to that kid's balance automatically.
The Balance panel shows what every kid has earned so far, all in one place.
Hand over the cash or transfer it โ KidConnect tracks the number, you decide how it's paid.
Why this works: kids see the direct line between the job and the money. It's the single biggest reason families stick with it.
Part 6 โ Schedule
The weekly schedule is what turns KidConnect from a chore chart into the family's shared calendar.
The calendar runs across the week in 30-minute slots from 8AM to 7PM. Click a slot, name the event, and it's booked.
Mark an event Recurring and choose Weekdays, Weekends, or Everyday โ school runs, practice, and bedtime never need re-entering.
Tag events with an icon โ โฝ sports, ๐ school, ๐ต music, ๐ฎ free time, ๐ฅ appointments โ so the week is readable at a glance.
Send the week's plan straight to the family by SMS or email from the dashboard โ one tap, everyone's on the same page.
Account care
From the dashboard, click Change Password. Enter your current password, then your new one. Saved instantly โ no email round-trip.
On the login page click Forgot Password?, enter your email, and hit Send Temporary Password. Use that to get in, then change it to something new.
At least 8 characters, at least 1 number, at least 1 special character. If the form won't accept your password, one of those three is missing.
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, not plain text โ nobody, including us, can read your password back out.
Troubleshooting
Check the name spelling first โ it has to match the dashboard exactly. If the name is right, confirm the code against the Kids panel on your dashboard.
It needs all three: 8+ characters, a number, and a special character. Try something like Family2026!.
No. Once a chore is claimed it belongs to that kid, so there's no double-dipping and no argument about who did it.
Nope โ that's the point. Kids log in with a name and a 4-digit code. Only the parent account needs an email.
There's no practical limit โ families with seven kids are already set up and running. One subscription covers the whole household.
Yes โ cancel anytime, no contract, no lock-in. If you took the annual plan you keep access for the full year you paid for.
Yes. KidConnect runs in any modern browser on phone, tablet, laptop or desktop โ nothing to install, and everyone sees the same live data.
If something in this guide didn't match what you're seeing, that's useful to know โ send it over and it gets fixed.
